Position title: OR Aide

Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Operating Room Coordinator, Registered Nurses, and Surgical Techs, and in accordance with defined AHC/AASC policies and procedures for the unit, the OR Aide provides technical patient care to a defined patient population as assigned by the Registered Nurse. Duties may include the performance of basic technical skills not requiring licensure. Supports the mission, vision, and values of Alii Ambulatory Surgery Center and promotes personal and patient safety.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operating Room (OR) cleaning and reset for the next case.
- Gathering equipment, case carts, and positioning aids for the next case
- Stocking of OR rooms, sub sterile, and specialty carts
- Help with positioning patients for surgery
- Assist in patient transfers from waiting room to pre-op bays, OR bed to patient bed, and PACU to patient transportation
- Delivers/Retrieves items from other departments, clinics, or hospitals
- Maintains stocking levels and restocks supplies/orders
- Light housekeeping duties as needed
- Assisting with Front Desk administrative duties as needed
- Safety is self-responsibility. Know the physical requirements of the job and work within those guidelines. Perform job duties safely, using correct body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques. Plan your actions to promote safety. Report any unsafe situation/equipment per AASC policy
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Adults/Adolescents (16 years of age and older) and Geriatric (65 and above)

- Comply with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Highschool education or G.E.D. desirable
- Experience: Previous medical or hospital experience desirable.
- BLS required
- Special Training: Must have training or self-paced instruction and be able to utilize computers and various software programs such as: Windows, Word, and Excel.
